It is noticed that the LDA rules for parking are extremely flawed and are the reason behind the rampant parking and traffic problems faced by the residents of Lahore. 1 car/ 1000 sq.ft. of covered area is ridiculous and this is the reason why all buildings in Lahore present a chaotic situation. Builders and land owners are behind this policy to maximize the price of land by adopting this flawed law. On top of that the government spends millions of rupees to build parking plazas from tax payer’s money whereas if the buildings were built with proper parking spaces there would be no need for these parking plazas. I request the government to focus on this pressing problem otherwise Lahore will soon turn into another Murree.
