The business community will give a call for complete shutter down immediately after Eid-ul-Fitr if kidnapping for ransom and killings continued in Karachi, the head of the country’s apex trade body said on Tuesday. “We will wait for the government’s response in the last days of Ramazan,” said Senator Haji Ghulam Ali, President, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI). “If the government fails to improve the situation, all business leaders will be invited after Eid to decide about the final call,” he added. The government has failed to stop killings and kidnapping for ransom in the economic hub of the country, which contributes around 68 percent to the national exchequer. In the fresh wave of violence over the last one week, 90 people lost their lives. The government is either not serious or is not capable to resolve the Karachi issue,” the FPCCI president said. “Therefore, we repeatedly called for Army’s intervention.” The latest killings in the city almost paralysed the business activity during the last one week. rt on roads.
