India, Pak industries demand removal of trade barriers |

New Delhi: Ahead of the meeting of Indian and Pakistani foreign ministers in New Delhi, industry representatives of the two countries have stressed the need to focus on ground-level issues to achieve progress in bilateral trade between the two neighbours.
At a one-day seminar organised by the India-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IPCCI) under the aegis of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) in Karachi recently, industry representatives from the two sides recommended that trading of goods through land routes (Sindh and Punjab) should be simplified: As there is insufficient space on trains, recognised and registered transport companies trucks should be allowed to transfer goods between warehouses to save extra handling charges on logistics.
