Pak businessmen advised to invest in Bangladesh |

High Commissioner of Bangladesh Sohrab Hussain has advised Pakistani businessmen to invest in motorbike assembling plants in his country to promote bilateral trade which is around $350 billion per annum. Addressing a reception organized in his honour at Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI), the BD diplomat underscored the significance of increasing the trade volume between the two countries. “Bangladesh imports cotton, cotton yarn and chemical dyes from Pakistan,” he said, advising the Pakistani businessmen to import pineapple from his country which is a cheaper market for the fruit in comparison with other countries. Hussain said that the garments industry was flourishing in Bangladesh, whose GDP is expected to rise to 7 per cent this year. About education in his country, the High Commissioner said the students were being offered free education in the schools and colleges. Deputy High Commissioner Rooh Alam assured the businessmen that the recommendation of HCCI for swift processing of business visa applications would be taken up immediately. Full story
