LAHORE : The Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Monday issued notices to Secretary Petroleum and Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) again in a writ petition challenging the load shedding of CNG in violation of agreement signed between petitioner and the government.

Earlier, the court had sought replies from the respondents but no reply was submitted so far. Now the court again directed them to file their replies by June 9. The petition was filed by Mian Aslam, owner of a CNG Station in Faisalabad, who through his counsel Kh Saeed-uz-Zafar contended that according to agreements signed between CNG stations and the government load shedding of the gas could only be carried out in winter season.

Counsel, however, pointed out that the agreement possessed by the petitioner bound the government to supply gas to the petitioner for whole year without any interruption. He said the government started load shedding of gas to the petitioner treating him equal to the other CNG stations in violation of the said agreement, which was clear discrimination. Counsel asked the court to direct the government not to treat the petitioner with discrimination.BR
