US wants to see stable Pakistan, India: Bakewell |

KARACHI: Economic Officer of US Consulate General in Karachi, Richard Bakewell has said that the United States wants to see stable Pakistan and India, a statement said on Thursday.
Bakewell said this at a meeting with members of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), it said.
Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Abdullah Zaki stressed the need to have closer relations between Pakistan and India, which will certainly encourage peace in the entire region.
Zaki stressed the need to effectively deal with the non-tariff barriers, which remained major hurdle in promoting trade between the two countries.
Commenting on granting the most favoured nation (MFN) status to India, the KCCI president said that high trade deficit with India is the main reason, which probably refrain Pakistan to give MFN status to India. Read more |
