These views were expressed by participants in the Jang Economic Session on ‘Expectations of Regional Chambers with new government’, here on Tuesday. The panellists were economist Prof Shahida Saleem, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, President Sheikhupura Chamber of Commerce and Industry Abdul Rasheed Khan, industrialists Zahid Saeed and Sheikh Mukhtar while it was hosted by Sikandar Hameed Lodhi and Intikhab Tariq.
Shahida Saleem said the chambers played a vital role in the economic growth while in some developed countries, the chambers shared the burden in development projects. She said the government should encourage the business community and promote the SME sector. She said industrialisation ends poverty. Read more |
