Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) arranged the meeting as a follow-up to the first such meeting in May last year. The Amn Ki Asha initiative has jointly been launched by Pakistani media giant the Jang Group and Times of India to promote peace between the nuclear-armed South Asian neighbours in the first of its kind civil society movement. In the sub-committee meeting, Pakistani and Indian delegates discussed issues hampering the textile trade and resolved to put a determined effort to overcome problems and promote business for the lasting peace. Pakistan-India CEOs Business Forum president Amin Hashwani, who led the five-member Pakistani delegation, said the two sides met to understand each others’ views, impediments to the trade and agree on specific initiatives to overcome them.
