Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif has termed his visit to Turkey successful in which a number of agreements of cooperation for development of various sectors were signed between the Punjab and Turkey. He was talking to the media at the Allama Iqbal International Airport here on Sunday, on his return from Turkey and London. In response to a question about loadshedding of gas in the Punjab, the chief minister said that he would immediately talk to the prime minister in this regard. About the agreements signed between Turkey and the Punjab government, he said that an agreement was reached between the Solid Waste Management and Istanbul Municipality for providing a clean and healthy atmosphere to the citizens. He said that a university would be established in Lahore where latest knowledge would be imparted while a 150MW power generation plant would also be set up in the Punjab with the cooperation of Turkey. The chief minister said Pakistan and Turkey were bound together in centuries-old bonds of civilisation, culture and history. Full Story
