Pepper: Domestic prices higher than export prices |

(Mard - 17/07/2010) - According to Vietnam Pepper Association (VPA), domestic prices has reached the record level, even higher than export prices.
At present, black pepper for exports is sold at 80,000 VND per kilogram and white pepper sold at 100,000 VND per kilogram. But the export prices of black pepper are 3800-4000 USD per tone, equivalent to 72,000-77,000 VND per kilogram; export prices of white pepper are 4,800-5000 USD per tone, equivalent to 92,000-96,000 VND per kilogram.
However, in the opinion of Mr Tran Duc Trung- head of VPA’s administration office, it is a pity that Vietnam would have no pepper left for exports in case of higher prices. MARD
